Who We Are

Association for Mothers & Newborns (AMAN) is a non-political, non-sectarian, non-profit voluntary welfare organization. It has been established to improve maternal and newborn health, and contribute to reducing maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity in Pakistan. It embraces members from different walks of life and disciplines i.e. health professionals, lawyers, media persons, midwives, public health specialists and social scientists.

AMAN was established in 2007. It is registered under Societies Act of Pakistan XXI of 1860

Our Aim

To improve maternal and newborn health, and thereby contribute to reducing maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity in Pakistan.

Our Objectives

To play an active role in influencing policy implementation and change for maternal and newborn health.

To serve as a body that provides evidence-based research and technical information to relevant stakeholders.

To build capacity of relevant categories of Healthcare Providers (HCPs) to ensure provision of safe motherhood services.

Our Events

Letter of Understanding(LoU) signed by Health Services Academy (HSA) and Bakhabar Noujawan

On December 18, 2024, we formalized a Letter of Understanding (LoU) with the Health Services Academy (HSA) and Bakhabar Noujawan. This landmark agreement was signed by AMAN’s President, Dr. Azra Ahsan, and HSA’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shehzad Ali Khan. We are excited about this collaboration and look forward to making a meaningful impact together.

Launching Ceremony of “Bakhabar Noujawan” at SZABIST University

On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, SZABIST, in collaboration with AMAN and NCMNH, officially launched the “Bakhabar Noujawan” initiative at the university. The event saw an enthusiastic turnout from faculty, development partners, and students. Dr. Talib Lashari honored the occasion as the Chief Guest.

PPH bundle management workshop

Prof Sadiah Ahsan Pal, Vice President AMAN, conducted PPH bundle management workshop and donated Non Pneumatic Ante Shock Garment (NASG) to Sandeman Hospital Quetta.

This 3-days Provincial TOT on Clinical Protocols for CEmONC/EmONC was conducted from November 25 till 27, 2024 by MNCH program Health Department Government of Balochistan, with support from UNFPA.
