A series of ToTs on 'Integrating Essential Maternal and Newborn Care with Postpartum Family Planning' conducted by AMAN in Collaboration with Greenstar Social Marketing and Pathfinder under the USAID funded Building Healthy Families Activity (BHFA) for the health care providers from private and public sectors of Sindh in April-May, 2024.
NCMNH & AMAN in collaboration with SOGP celebrated International Women's Day today in Karachi. The theme being “inspire inclusion “. This was highlighted during the meeting.
Event started with the launch of 8th Edition of ‘Textbook of Obstetrics & Gynaecology’ by Prof. Rashid Lateef and ‘National Guidelines for the management of PPH for Pakistan’. Findings from ‘In-depth Analysis of Pakistan Maternal Mortality Survey (PMMS) – 2019’ and institutionalisation of Post-Partum Intra-Uterine Contraceptive Device (?PPIUCD) - in Pakistan were also disseminated. Online Reproductive Health course ‘Bakhabar Noujawan’ was introduced, and next steps discussed.
Strategies to improve maternal health and family planning and eventually to a more inclusive and equitable society were discussed.
AMAN in Collaboration with NCMNH,New Beginnings Healthcare and Mehfooz Maa conducted PPH bundle Approach work shop at Isra University Hyderabad on January 25, 2024. The workshop was well attended by 70 participants from different hospitals LUMHS, Tandojam and COD hyderabad.

Association for Mothers and Newborns (AMAN) in collaboration with Rotary Club (RC) of Karachi Cosmopolitan conducted a workshop and seminar on World Population Day, July 11, at Patel Hospital, Karachi. These activities were part of Rotary Global Grant on “Postpartum and post-miscarriage family planning in 6 health facilities in Sindh and Balochistan”. The workshop provided hands-on training to doctors and midwives on postpartum IUCD insertion. Speakers at the seminar included Dr Talat Rizvi (RC New Central, District Chair, MCH) and Dr Shahida Zaidi (Project Coordinator of Rotary Global Grant and Vice President, AMAN).

NCMNH in collaboration with Association for Mothers and Newborns (AMAN), set up a Post Pregnancy Family Planning and Postabortion Care Skills Lab at Hameed Latif hospital , Lahore on December 21, 2022. Dr Mariam Iqbal, Provincial Technical Consultant NCMNH, handed over the equipment and IEC material to Prof. Rubina Sohial.
The objective is to strengthen Skilled Birth Attendants to provide family planning (FP) services and to ensure that the mother not only leaves the health facility with a baby but a contraceptive too.
NCMNH in collaboration with Association for Mothers and Newborns (AMAN), set up a PpFP SKILLS LAB at Ob/Gyn department of Ayub teaching hospital, Abbottabad. It was inaugurated by Prof Dr. Umar Farooq, Dean and CEO Ayub medical teaching institute (AMTI) on 14th October, 2022.
The objective is to strengthen Skilled Birth Attendants to provide family planning (FP)services and sensitize them to integrate FP with all health services.
National Committee for Maternal and Neonatal Health (NCMNH) is promoting Post Pregnancy Family Planning (PpFP) services for 10 years. To sustain PpFP services, Skills labs are being established in selected hospitals. Objective is to strengthen the skills of Health Care Providers in providing Post Abortion Care using Manual Vacuum Aspiration & Medications and Post Pregnancy Family Planning (PpFP) services particularly IUCDs & Contraceptive Implants.
To commemorate World Contraception Day on Monday, 26 September 2022, NCMNH in collaboration with Association for Mothers and Newborns (AMAN), inaugurated a PpFP Skills Lab at New Beginnings Hospital, Karachi.
The purpose of this activity is to create awareness about:
1. The burgeoning population and its implications for the country
2. Strengthen Skilled Birth Attendants to provide FP services and sensitize them to integrate FP with all health services
Postpregnancy Family Planning (PpFP) and Postabortion Care (PAC) Skills Lab has been developed by NCMNH and AMAN at Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) and was inaugurated by Chief guest Prof. Taqdees Gillani, Member Legislation Assembly. Executive Director AIMS, Prof Masood Bukhari appreciated the efforts and supported the provision of FP services at Tertiary care hospitals
